Born in Taiwan, Frankie started playing violin and piano at the age of 6 and had his first concert three years after. Frankie has played in orchestras from the age of 10, beginning with amateur orchestras such as the Classical Youth Orchestra in Taiwan and the Academy of Strings in New Zealand. In recent years he has moved on to professional orchestras such as the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra and the Pipers Sinfonia. Frankie received his ATCL diploma in 2006 and was awarded second runner up in West Auckland Performing Arts Competition in the same year. He has played in masterclasses for violinists, such as Nicola Benedetti, and in competitions such as the University of Auckland Concerto Competition in 2009 and 2010.
In 2013 he graduated with Master of Music specialised in violin performance from the University of Auckland. Frankie started part time career as a violin teacher since he was at university and has created his own violin studio. He also teaches in various schools such as Elim Christian College and Glendowie College etc.
